17th Century Measured Survey
Summer! The last few months have been so super busy we haven't even had time to update our blog! But Summer is now here and we have so many interesting projects that our surveyors are working on. A proportion of May was taken up by returning to a site near Wincanton that we originally measured in 2015. At that time we were concentrating on the main farmhouse, the adjoining piggery and the stables. This time round we were asked to measure the farmyard, the threshing barn that was 68 meters long and the dairy. The client had changed their architect since our first visit and we were delighted that the new architect was so impressed by the standard of the drawings that he invited us back to measure the broadened scope
A small section of the farmhouse courtyard was also asked to be scanned so that a timber frame consultant could use point cloud data to accurately attain positions and levels for the new veranda that will be added to this amazing 17th century building.
